Melvin Keeshan - Managing Partner

Melvin is a successful entrepreneur with long-term experience starting, managing, selling and buying companies across a range of industry sectors. He has created the MSB managed service offering to assist other like minded entrepreneurs, in preparing their businesses for sale, sourcing and successfully transacting with an acquirer.

He began his career in the offshore corporate finance sector as an expatriate, living and working in the Far East, Middle East & Latin America. Melvin then entered the UK I.T Sector and held a number of roles culminating in him building a UK wide Network Services practice that was floated on the London stock exchange (Phoenix I.T Group). Melvin then started a business consulting firm to service the outsourcing industry which became a significant UK brand (freshfields) and successfully sold this in 2015 through an MBO.

After having a little time out focused on private entrepreneurial projects such as purchasing a hotel near sandbanks he then purchased ECO Food Recycling Ltd in its infancy. After introducing new business processes and technologies he recruited his own management team to help him drive and grow the company up to covering 5 counties with over 1200 clients and successfully sold this to Biffa Plc.


Faizul Ali - Senior Advisor

Faizul Ali is an equity Partner in the EY UK Transaction’s Advisory Services business. He is the main relationship Partner between EY and MSB and acts as a Senior Adviser to MSB.
Faizul has over 20 years of experience supporting M&A transactions across a range of sectors, leading transactions both in and out of the recycling sector in the UK and Internationally. He has also successfully worked on multiple global M&A transactions.

Tim stone - Legal Counsel

Tim joined Steele Raymond LLP in 1998 and heads up the Company & Commercial Team. He is also the firm’s Chairman. Tim acts for a wide range of business clients across various sectors. He is the main relationship partner between Steele Raymond and MSB having worked with and provided legal services to Melvin Keeshan successfully on multiple transactions. Tim has particular expertise in acting for both sellers and buyers of private companies (M&A) and during his career has been involved in some of the UK south region’s leading M&A transactions. He is recognised by the Legal 500 (one of the leading independent guides to the legal profession) as displaying “admirable patience”, “in-depth knowledge” and being an adviser who “quickly gets to the heart of the matter”!

steve Sanders - Non executive advisor

Steve Sanders presently leads pursuit of major global opportunities for Ernst & Young (EY), spanning M&A Advisory, Technology and Process Transformation, Tax and Assurance. Notably he led the global initiative to support focusing EY’s greatest value add in the post acquisition integration of Monsanto by Bayer.

Since the 1990’s Steve developed and leveraged a model for accelerating turnaround and growth of businesses, based on agile methods and simplified ‘business growth mechanics’, which has enabled business model tuning that resulted in growth both operationally and in company valuations.

Having a corporate track record of making strategic breakthroughs at global TMT clients, and previously at IBM, HP and BT, he has developed an exceptional senior network internationally in corporate and public sector. Steve has been engaged over 20 years in initiatives of increasing complexity, levels of strategic impact, and degrees of critical responsibility. His work has taken him to all parts of the EMEA, APAC and Americas regions, with medium – large corporates, and scale-up SMEs.

His work has included go-to-market transformation for IBM, major business unit creation or turnaround in several companies, and recovery of both critical publicly visible client programmes and in vendor go-to-market. Over 10 years this directly generated $2.4bn and further secured $4.2bn of business.

Steve is distinguished by his hands-on style, combined with sharp, intellectual and agenda-setting insight. He takes great satisfaction from challenging unhelpful assumptions that hinder the performance of organisations, in eco-system interactions, within their sales force, or around major contractual undertakings, and in finding ways to unleash their true potential. Steve is often involved with companies as they experience very challenging market situations, driven for instance by shifting business models, maturing portfolio or disruptive innovations.

Steve is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, an alumnus CBA and Business Ambassador at Warwick Business School for Strategy and Consulting, and an accomplished speaker, facilitator and consummate author of business articles. His charity work has included various roles and contributions to Great Ormond Street Hospital, Cancer Research, Salvation Army, HopeTowns and Refugee Right Europe, and mentoring through EY Foundation and other youth programmes.

Gary Suttle - Finance Partner

Gary is a chartered accountant and has successfully built his own accountancy and boutique corporate finance practice up over the last 30 years. He has worked closely with Melvin Keeshan in the purchase and sale of companies and commercial properties, is the main relationship partner between MSB and Suttle & Co.

As a councillor Gary was elected to Swanage Town Council in 1991 and Purbeck District Council in 2001 representing Swanage South. During this period he served as Mayor of Swanage on 6 occasions and has been Leader of Purbeck District Council for many years.

Fergus Healy - associate partner

Fergus has 20 years + experience in the waste and renewables sector. He worked closely with Melvin Keeshan delivering consultancy to ECO Food Recycling Ltd. He has a breadth of knowledge covering EfW, clinical waste incineration, general waste and DMR collection, food waste collection logistics, construction and operation of In-Vessel composting and Anaerobic Digestion plants.


Fergus has held senior roles and is a recognised thought leader in food waste collection & treatment industry.

His roles have previously included Group Managing Director for an AIM listed organic waste treatment business, operating and EPC build for large infrastructure, including PFI, projectsFergus has led and integrated a number of acquisitions in the organic waste treatment sector and led strategic thinking for numerous other targets, approaches, deal construction and DD activities.

Paul stephen - Associate Partner

Paul has been involved in M+A and technology transactions for over 20 years, and has worked on over £10b worth of deal opportunities. Paul is a senior Commercial/ Sales/ BD leader in the Digital, IT and BPO field. He has worked with Melvin Keeshan on multiple transactions in various roles. He is adept in managing and developing all commercial activity, and in winning and managing very large international projects in most vertical sectors, with considerable experience in Banking, FS&I, CPG, Retail & Travel industries. A natural Hunter/ Farmer / Deal Maker (Direct and Partner/Alliance sales), with the ability to run sales/ bd processes, including large RFI/ RFP bid management processes. He is an IT/ Technology (infrastructure, Cloud, Apps, SI, DC) and BPO expert with an excellent track record of winning large £100m plus deals; and also in winning specific ‘New World’ Consulting opportunities covering RPA, Automation, AI, Cognitive, Digital and Analytics, across the UK EMEA, The Far East and the USA.

Paul has over 20 years of experience supporting M&A Technology transactions across a range of Sectors, leading transactions both in and out of the Technology sector in the UK and Internationally. Paul is a seasoned commercial director and pricing deal shaper. He worked across and managed the EMEA territory for a large Technology business, preparing business cases, driving the commercial and finance bids, customer facing negotiations and modelling the finance solution.

He is an active member in a number of charities, where skills as a fundraiser and money maker are much appreciated. His main Charity interests are:

• St. James Hospital centre for Paediatric Oncology & Haematology – Leeds
• Candlelighters – a charity for the parents and families of kids and Adults with Leukaemia/Cancer
• St.James Children’s Cancer – Ward 10 Xmas fund – Chief Fundraiser
• An Ambassador and Fundraiser for the Marie Curie Foundation
• Fundraiser and Advisor for the Lymphodemia Trust Charity Board

Managed Service

A unique end to end process is designed for each client to ensure maximum market value is achieved. MSB without exception will document the personal wishes of each shareholder per transaction and assist in preparing a pre-determined strategy around the structure and value of a transaction sought (a fully managed service).


When buying or selling a company the very nature of these transactions can be extremely perplexing for the non-legal mind. Significant liabilities and future financial risk can easily occur if this process is not managed correctly.

Management Consultancy

If you are selling or buying a company there are always serious, highly complex considerations to take into account. Quite often the correct skills do not reside internally to properly analyse all aspects, impacts, challenges and so on to successfully complete a transaction for all stakeholders.

Corporate Finance

Our larger clients may often require corporate finance to complete on an acquisition. As part of the unique managed service offered by MSB for Merger and Acquisition activities we are able to shape and facilitate the most complex of deals through the provision of corporate funds in a highly efficient and competitive manner.


MSB work closely with a wide range of large (often global) corporations, including PLC, PE and venture capitalists. Our corporate clients are highly varied in type and size within the environmental sector, and all have their own individual board strategies and varied appetites for growth through acquisition.


Selling a privately owned enterprise that has often taken years to build can be a highly emotive, challenging, and sensitive matter. MSB work intimately with each client to gain a detailed understanding of the entire business operation and consult with each client around a specific set of goals, agreeing a rigid strategy “to execute” for all stakeholders affected.
